Accessibility

The Amsterdam Roots Festival aims to be a welcoming event for everyone. That's why we've designed the festival grounds and program to ensure that visitors with disabilities can also enjoy the festival.

Visitors with disabilities can participate in our interactive programs, such as the Circus Workshop or T-shirt painting, and enjoy concerts and performances on the various stages.

This year, we are providing the following facilities to enhance accessibility:
★ We have made the grounds as wheelchair accessible as possible with ramps and walkways.
★ There is a lowered bar, so everyone can easily order and pay for drinks.
★ Accessible toilets are available.
★ Guide dogs are welcome.
★ There is a medical care area at the first aid post.
★ A sensory-friendly space is available for those who need a quiet moment.
★ A map highlighting all important locations is available.
★ There is an information desk where you can get all your questions answered.

How to get to the Amsterdam Roots Festival?

Public transport: Trams 1 and 3 stop at the Beukeweg stop, opposite the main entrance of OLVG Oost. This stop is wheelchair accessible and is right next to the festival grounds. Metro station Wibautstraat (exit Vrolikstraat) is a 10-minute walk away.

By car: On Sundays, parking is free near Oosterpark. There is also a kiss & ride spot at the entrance of the park on Oosterpark street number 49, near Eikenweg. Here, visitors with disabilities can be dropped off. Please note: parking is not allowed at these spots. Extra care volunteers are on standby to assist with getting in and out of vehicles.
