Conjunto Papa Upa

live from Bimhuis

Live music

After two years Conjunto Papa Upa returns to Amsterdam Roots with their new album “Libre Para Amar”. They would give a concert on the big music stage in the Oosterpark this year, but will now be seen from the Bimhuis. Conjunto Papa Upa is the musical brainchild of Amsterdam-based Venezuelan Alex Figueira, a Third Culture Kid par excellence who comments on the current political situation in Venezuela with his sarcastic lyrics. Effortlessly, the sounds emanating from the long history of Afro-Caribbean culture from Latin America are mixed with surf, psychedelia and funk. The music is on the verge of being vintage and futuristic at the same time and above all invites you to hit the dance floor at home. Invite some friends and taste this irresistible tropical cocktail.
