Opening Ceremony – Aralez
Sunday July 4 2021 in Oosterpark Moon Stage, Amsterdam
Start: 11:30
Mapu Ceremonie by Aralez
Aralez is a pan-decolonial network, founded in Amsterdam. Yes, pan-decolonial: the collective takes as its starting point that decolonisation is a worldwide process, requiring solidarity between people with different cultural and historical backgrounds. Cooperation is therefore central to everything they organise. Through various interventions and ceremonies, Aralez wants to contribute to a world where a diversity of systems, beings and cultures can live in harmony and flourish.
On the 4th of July, they will organize the opening of Roots Open Air in the Oosterpark in the form of a Mapu Ceremony, developed within the framework of Century of Indigenous Liberation. Mapu Ceremonies contribute to harmony within our relations and communities and give inspiration for the common struggle of decolonisation, healing, regeneration of nature and restoring relations with Mother Earth. During the ceremony, use is made of the Kultrun, a cultural element from the Mapuche culture. The kultrun symbolises the cosmovision of the Mapuche people: Kume Mogen (a balanced, harmonious life).
