Who are we?
Amsterdam Roots Festival is a multidisciplinary festival that offers a stage to artists that explore their roots and tell their story through music, theatre, dance, spoken word, film and everything that moves in between. The biggest event of the festival is Roots Open Air in the Oosterpark: a full festival day with 8 stages (music, circus and urban dance), the Roots Bazaar (food and non-food market) and an elaborate context program. Other events take place at venues like Bimhuis, Doka and Pakhuis de Zwijger.

What are we looking for?
You are currently enrolled in a relevant field of study like cultural management, leisure management, production, or you recently graduated. You are interested in performing arts, can handle stress and like to take things head on. Furthermore you are flexibel, full of initiative and preferably living in Amsterdam or familiar with the city.

Tasks Internship Production
As an intern production, you will be part of our production team and support them with their diverse tasks. This would mean for example gathering information from the (international) artists and making time schedules, roadbooks and  transport schedules. It also entails thinking with the whole team about all the productional matters involved in creating a festival such as Amsterdam Roots. Together with the team you will look for a certain project during the festival that fits well with your interests and skills.

What can we offer you?
Working as an intern at Amsterdam Roots means having a job position with many responsibilities. You work with a small, enthusiastic and dynamic team in a challenging and creative environment. You’re involved in the complete process from creating the festival from scratch to seeing your work come to reality. Along the way you will learn to deal with the different aspects of production work. An internship fee is available.

Are you interested in this internship? Send us your application with CV and motivation letter by email to Saskia Groot at [email protected] before October 25th latest. In case you would like to have more information or have questions about the festival or this specific position, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
